Hugoton USD 210 Art
with Mr. Terrill
The elementary and middle school art department under Mr. Terrill serves grades four through eight, with approximately 140 students yearly. Various studies in art include art history, art appreciation and a curriculum of various media such as painting, printmaking, drawing, ceramics, and sculpture. As well, we approach digital art, graphic design, and many other techniques throughout the course of the school year. Our studies relate to the state and national standards set by the Kansas and National Art Education Association, in the approach of discipline based art, and the focus put on the various aspects of student growth and creation.
Each year brings an exciting new vitality with new students and new creations, and students may choose art as an elective through all grades, with art required at the fourth grade level as an introduction to the department. We are fortunate to have a fantastic array of students and materials to allow creativity and study to be explored in all aspects of art, and each new year allows us to delve even deeper into new techniques and processes as we grow and change. I look forward to seeing my students and working with them each day, and it is a joy to be able to do what we study every year.
We hope you enjoy our website and come back often.
Sincerely,
Mr. Terrill
